Kenneth Greiner, Artist

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in a little town called Buckley in Washington about an hour south of Seattle

And what is your experience being in New York like as an artist?

It’s challenging. New York is very kinetic. It’s busy. I come from the forest basically so it’s the total opposite of what I’m used to

How did you get into art?

I think I always used art therapeutically. I always used to draw when I was a kid. I grew up in a very religious family and as a queer person that was challenging. But overtime I found myself as an artist along the way

And how do you think emerging artists can promote themselves?

Probably a combination of getting involved in the community and doing things for yourself. Like making your own shows

What’s your favorite thing about being in New York?

It’s very spontaneous. I feel like anything can happen here
